Restoring Industrial Wheels

Industrial wheel surfaces will wear out and when they do you have two choices: You can replace the entire wheel with a new one or you can have the wheel hub recoated. The latter is far less expensive and many times the new coating can exceed the durability of the original wheel coating.

Our company, Elastomer Specialties, has over 45 years experience in the wheel restoration business. We offer a cost-effective solution to repair all types and sizes of industrial wheels.

ESI's unique process for removing failed rubber or urethane from the wheel hubs gives us the ability to finish the preparation process then apply the new elastomeric coating directly to the wheel hub.

Depending on the wheel usage, the coating hardness can vary between Shore A 40 up to Shore A 90, all of which are easily in the range of our production capabilities. Many wheels come to us requiring special grinding and grooving patterns, such as a diagonal or chevron-shaped groove while others need external (OD) grooving. Whatever the need ESI has the ability to produce.

Wheels of all sizes come in needing the old coating removed. They are then steel blasted, primed and recoated.
