Polyurea Bridge Coating

Concrete Deck Plates For San Mateo Bridge
Concrete deck plates have been sandblasted and are ready for application of PoxyPrime primer. The picture shows installation of PoxyPrime to deck plates by spray technicians. Because the deck plates lay horizontal, the PoxyPrime fills in all the bug holes, pin holes and holidays, eliminating the need for applying PoxyPrime BF. Once the primer has cured (slightly tacky), the deck plates are ready for application of the polyurea intermediate coat.

Application Of ElastoGard ARC To Concrete Deck Plates
Application of Elastomer Specialties, Inc. ElastoGard ARC to concrete deck plates that have previously been primed with PoxyPrime. Finished plates will be ready for application of color stable PolySpar HP.

Concrete End Cap Preparation & Coating
Inset shows a previously sandblasted concrete end cap before PoxyPrime BF has been applied. The main picture shows the same end cap coated with ElastoGard ARC. Technicians are now going back and filling in random pinhols that were missed during the PoxyPrime BF application stage.

End Cap Top Coating With PolySpar HP
Concrete end cap just after PolySpar HP has been applied. A 10 mil application of the color stable polyaspartic top coat was made using a Mongoose plural component pump. Temperature during this application was approximately 85° F. Tack fee time at this temperature is around 30 minutes.
