 CASE HISTORY:

  • Customer owned custom built steel duck hunting blind.
  • Blind was 40' x 5' x 4', constructed of medium gauge steel.
  • Shipped to mfg. plant from Arkansas where it was built.
  • Sand blasted and primed with IsoPrime II prior to coating application.

Polyurea Steel Coating Duck Blind

 BACKGROUND:
  • Owner initially saw fast set polyurea coating system on mfg. web site and inquired about a long term protective coating system to be applied to his custom built duck blind.
  • Product specified was GatorHyde 50, a rapid curing polyurea coating system.
 INSTALLATION:
  • After steel blind was sand blasted to the appropriate profile, mfg. applied IsoPrime II to entire surface area at approx. 1-3 mils.
  • After curing (10 minutes) GatorHyde 50 was applied using the "Condor Deluxe" Low Pressure Spray Plural Component Pump System and LPS Wand assembly.
  • Material was applied in two applications.
  • The final application was a medium stipple.
  • Total application was 55 mils, color was gray.
 MATERIAL:
  • GatorHyde 50 - Aromatic Polyurea
  • Shore D Hardness: 50
  • 1:1 Ratio, Cold applied at 65 - 85 psi.
  • 8 second gel time.
  • 15 seconds tack free
  • 55 mils thick.
