 Project:

 

ICON ENGINEERING CO., coatings contractor recently Installed Elastomer Specialties polyurea coating on a large concrete deck system located in ANKARA, (Capital City Of Turkey). The owner of the project, KC Group Construction Co. needed a coating system would that would provide an wear surface and yet be flexible enough to give maximum water-proofing for the deck surface.

Mr. Serdar Ruhi Arslan, the President of ARSIN YAPI CONSTRUCTION CO., and “Exclusive products distributor for Elastomer Specialties, Inc.” decided to go with a special 45 second gel time polyurea coating in order to meet the owners tight specifications. ElastoGard ARC-SG by ESI was the product chosen for this application by Serdar.

 MATERIAL:

  • A. 100% solids Epoxy Primer
  • B. ElastoGArd ARC-SG 100% solids, 1:1 ratio Pure polyurea coating developed by Elastomer Specialties, Inc. for application on concrete, wood, geo-textile fabric and many other substrates.

 INSTALLATION:

 

Prior to the actual installation of the ElastoGard ARC-SG the contractor thoroughly prepared the entire surface area by removing all concrete laitance using rotary grinders. The surrounding area was properly masked off in order to protect from polyurea overspray. Proper protective clothing was worn during the application.
