POLYUREA POLYUREA

AquaKote Aquarium Coating System

Commercial Aquarium Coating System

Unlike other aquarium coatings, the AquaKote System uses a combination of products to provide the ultimate protective barrier for concrete in aquamarine use. A unique water-based epoxy primer, POXYPRIME H20 is the key in providing excellent adhesion between the polyurea base coat and the concrete substrate. Rapid curing in design, POXYPRIME H20 speeds up the overall installation process by enabling the base coat to be applied in minutes, not hours. This unique 2:1 ratio primer exhibits long-term pot life (4-6 hours) yet cures to the touch and is ready to coat in 1hour or less. POXYPRIME H20 can be applied by using commercial tight nap rollers or through an airless sprayer for maximum production capability.

When it comes to a pure polyurea base coat, nothing beats ElastoGard ARC! This aromatic polyurea has been developed for use through a high-pressure plural component spray system such as manufactured by Graco, Glas-Craft or Gusmer. Designed as the second leg to the AquaKote System, ElastoGard ARC develops a tensile strength of 4000 psi with an elongation of 425% and a 52 shore D hardness. Installed at a minimum dry film thickness of 60 mils, ARC provides a tough, durable yet flexible membrane that bridges hairline cracks and waterproofs the entire inside of the aquarium. This impact resistant, polyurea coating sets the stage for the 3rd and final coat.

PolySpar HP is a pure aliphatic, polyaspartic polyurea developed for use as a color stable protective topcoat to ElastoGard ARC in the AquaKote System. Resistant to continuous emersion of both fresh and salt water, PolySpar HP maintains a crisp, brilliant color without chalking or fading for many years. The three components of the AquaKote System are all designed for ease and speed of application in order to reduce costly labor expense.

Once properly installed the AquaKote System is safe for exposure to all forms of marine mammals.

PoxyPrime H2O Polyurea Auquarium Coating System1 - PoxyPrime H2O Water-Based Epoxy Primer
PoxyPrime H20: This water-based epoxy primer is a two component, 50% solids, 2 to 1 ratioi material developed for use on concrete surfaces as a rapid curing, user friendly primer. H20 is tac-free in 1 hour at 77° F and has a pot life of 4-6 hours. This unique product can easily be installed using tight nap rollers or even through an airless sprayer. Designed as part of the "AquaKote System" H2O provides a tight bond between the ElastoGard ARC base coat and the concrete surface.
ElastoGard ARC Acromatic Polyurea Auquarium Coating System2 - ElastoGard ARC Aromatic Polyurea
ElastoGard ARC: An aromatic, pure polyurea spray coating system designed for teh protection of concrete, steel and wood surfaces. ElastoGard ARC is the second leg in the AquaKote installation process. Applied through a high-pressure, plural component spray system, by an ESI certified applicator, ElastoGard ARC provides a flexible yet durable water proof membrane to the interior or exterior of a commercial aquarium.

RApid curing ARC has a gel time of 20 seconds and can be installed at termperatures as low as -30° F.

PolySpar HP Color Stable Polyurea Auquarium Coating System3 - PolySpar HP Color Stable Polyurea
PolySpar HP: This product is a 60% solids, clor stable aliphatic, polyaspartic coating based on "NEW POLYUREA TECHNOLOGY". The product can be applied through a cup gun, pressure pot, airless sprayer, plural component pump or even be rolled on. As the 3rd and final stage of the AquaKote process, PolySpar HP is designed to be the color stable coating applied directly over ElastoGard ARC. Because of its chemical composition, HP stands up under complete emersion in salt water, fresh water and even water with higher than normal levels of chlorine. This topcoat is safe for all marine mammals and if dammaged is easy to color match and repair.

This polyaspartic will provide added UV protection and endurance to aromatic polyurea undercoats. When dry it provides a smooth finish designed to protect the soft skin of marine mammals.
